Kim and Andy | Newagen Seaside Inn Wedding, Maine

Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 11:03am - Weddings

We had the best day with Kim & Andy!  Such a fun loving couple...they created an incredible day for all their family and friends.  In case you can´t tell--Kim is kind of in love with seahorses.  So Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport Maine was the perfect spot--and it was a fun coincidence that the breezy cottage decor at Newagen complimented her beautiful coral and aqua palette (two of my absolute favorite color combinations--both to wear and photograph!).

A lone bagpiper on the pier announced the marriage and beckoned everyone outside to give well wishes to the new couple.  The chapel was hidden in the woods, right on the water--made for fun exploring after the wedding.  We had a luxurious hour just to do fun photos of family and wedding party.  We almost never get that much time--we made the most of it.  I always encourage people to make the formals a fun part of the day--it´s one of the few times you get to spend with family and very close friends on your wedding day.

There was a storm threatening all day--it added a dimension of excitement in the air.  And when the storm finally did come through--the timing was perfect--it rained during cocktail hour, and during dancing--we literally didn´t skip a beat.  And it made for a magical double rainbow over Newagen.  Very memorable day.

Congrats to you two!  I hope you get some inspiration from their day--and when rain threatens--don´t fight it--just invite it to the party!

Regina and Mark | York Golf and Tennis Club Wedding, Maine

Sunday, August 31st, 2014 at 12:02pm - Weddings

Loved everything about Regina & Mark´s breezy seaside Summer wedding in York Harbor.  The soft blue and green palette combined all the things that are special to them as a couple.  They are actors in Hollywood, and they managed to bring some beautiful California light to Maine.

Their close friends performed a little tea ceremony to usher in the reception--so many little moments like this throughout the day that captivated everyone present.

Arnold & Ben of Barnberry Productions did an 8mm inspired video of Film day too.  Check out link here:  Regina & Mark Film.  They are both so fun to work with and create really beautiful work.  They captured the emotion in a way that is hard on film sometimes...esp Mark watching Regina walk down the aisle for the first time.  Also--love that behind the scenes footage of Regina & Mark making the wood archway and hand painting all the signs.  I also love the stream of consciousness editing style--all the emotion and craziness of a wedding.  Beautifully captured.

Mark enjoys woodworking and made that part of the day--from the "shim" escort cards, to the driftwood centerpieces, to the beautiful wooden archway for the ceremony.  Regina had a light from within that was shining every moment of their day....really wonderful couple.  So happy to be sharing their joyful day here.  Congrats Regina & Mark!

Bay Chamber Welcome Dinner | Rockport, Maine

Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 at 9:15pm - Portraits

I was lucky enough to attend and photograph the welcome dinner for the 2014 Bay Chamber Musicians Welcome Dinner in Rockport Maine.  Manuel Bagarro, the Artistic Director for the Bay Chamber, hosted the event at his charming home in Rockport village.  My mom and dad, Linda and Douglas Posson were the sponsors of the dinner.

Featured musicians at The Bay Chamber this Summer who attended the dinner included viola/violinist Geoff Nuttall, violinist Livia Sohn, cellist Christopher Costanza, harpsichord/pianist Pedja Muzijevic, and oboist James Austin Smith.  Also in attendance were staff and many of the supporters of the chamber.

And of course, I couldn´t help but take some prep images of Manuel, Doug & Linda and some of my sassy 7 year old Sage--who was also in full sashay mode.

Please visit the Bay Chamber and check out the sensational schedule of events this season.

Courtney and Brandon | Three Chimneys Inn, Durham NH

Friday, July 18th, 2014 at 3:43pm - Weddings

I love a good color story...and Courtney & Brandon pulled off the most alluring minty green inspired day.  Their natural woodland details, bright florals by Angela Bramante at Drinkwater Design and charming historic location caught my fancy.   I also felt a little like I was walking into a 1960´s movie set...complete with Woody Allen vinyl groomsmen gifts, Beatles-eque sharp looking suits (and hair cuts), and swing skirt wedding dress.  But it felt fresh and modern too--they sampled that vintage era and made it their own.

And let me tell you, these two can rock too.

They did something I´ve never seen at a wedding (and that is kinda saying something since I´ve photographed over 400)--they had a classic open mic night at the last hour of their soiree.  Brandon´s mom got up and sang the sweetest version of I Hope You Dance.  The groom did a spontaneous drum riff for one his groomsmen´s tunes, and lastly, the bride sang and strummed on her banjo.  Blew everybody in the room away.  Hope you enjoy all the the fetching moments and details of their day.  Congratulations Courtney & Brandon.

PS..I almost broke my server uploading all the images from this wedding--I couldn´t help it!  They had such a wonderful day...what can I say?
