Melissa and Adam | Flag Hill Winery Wedding, Lee NH

Sunday, October 19th, 2014 at 9:18pm - Weddings

This couple had us mesmerized all day!  Kelli Wholey of Lumina NH was second photographer with me, and we could not believe the perfect the day Melissa & Adam had.  It was the last official weekend of Summer...and the grapes were almost bursting in the warm September sun.   So many sweet details...elegant bride, smiley groom (we had to really try to stop Adam from smiling all day!!), the heirloom veil and jewelry, the antique typewriter and key bottle openers.  We also loved their fresh yellow and blue felt like a very natural, organic day--nothing rushed, every moment savored--including the gelato stand by Gelato Fiasco!  Sparklers created a festive final hoorah for this sweet couple. Congratulations Melissa & Adam!

Bailee & Alex had a romantic day at the charming Chebeague Island Inn.  Love the glamour meets seaside look and feel of their intimate wedding.  Bailee´s bouquet was a show stealer too.  This couple lives in West Virginia--and fell in love with the Maine coast as a get away wedding destination.  Marina DeMarco captured the beauty of the day.  Congratulations Bailee & Alex!

Tyler and Brian | York Golf and Tennis Club Wedding

Sunday, October 19th, 2014 at 5:20pm - Weddings

Tyler and Brian planned the perfect day...from the seaside location to the blue and orange details.  We enjoyed watching their two families--they meshed really well together.  They decided to do everything together on the day too--from getting dressed to family portraits to dancing the night away--they enjoyed every minute of it.

But the most memorable part of their day was the ceremony itself--especially the vows.  There was not a dry eye in the house...they each poured their hearts out and endeared themselves and their union to every single person in attendance.  Tyler´s dad made a particularly memorable toast afterward too...I´ll remember this day and this couple for a long time.

Check out their amazing engagement session too.   And the dancing energy was amazing!   Both clans ripped up the dance floor all night (John Griffin...I´m looking at you)!   Hope you enjoy this sneak peek into their day.  We are so happy for you both!  Congratulations Tyler & Brian!!

Fall in Greenlandia | Nordic Inspired Wedding in Maine

Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at 9:22am - Weddings

Michelle Rose of Minka Fine Flowers, Laura Pope and I designed a seasonally inspired 4 part wedding series inspired by traditions and patterns of Scandinavia.   We starting calling it "Greenlandia"--party as a joke and play on my favorite show "Portlandia."  But name stuck, and we embraced it.

Part fairy tale, part history, part New England...we wanted a very modern yet romantic look, but with a nostalgic nod at the very ancient past.

Mary Jo Brown and company at Seacoast Weddings Magazine featured the entire series together in a 16 page feature for their stunning 2014 magazine.  We were so thrilled!

I thought I would show each season it´s in glorious details and design and location throughout the year.  All of our wedding creatives worked so hard on each shoot too--I am so grateful for their design, amazing talents, and tremendous effort on each shoot.

Hope you enjoy it as much we did.

Kim and Andy | Newagen Seaside Inn Wedding, Maine

Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 11:03am - Weddings

We had the best day with Kim & Andy!  Such a fun loving couple...they created an incredible day for all their family and friends.  In case you can´t tell--Kim is kind of in love with seahorses.  So Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport Maine was the perfect spot--and it was a fun coincidence that the breezy cottage decor at Newagen complimented her beautiful coral and aqua palette (two of my absolute favorite color combinations--both to wear and photograph!).

A lone bagpiper on the pier announced the marriage and beckoned everyone outside to give well wishes to the new couple.  The chapel was hidden in the woods, right on the water--made for fun exploring after the wedding.  We had a luxurious hour just to do fun photos of family and wedding party.  We almost never get that much time--we made the most of it.  I always encourage people to make the formals a fun part of the day--it´s one of the few times you get to spend with family and very close friends on your wedding day.

There was a storm threatening all day--it added a dimension of excitement in the air.  And when the storm finally did come through--the timing was perfect--it rained during cocktail hour, and during dancing--we literally didn´t skip a beat.  And it made for a magical double rainbow over Newagen.  Very memorable day.

Congrats to you two!  I hope you get some inspiration from their day--and when rain threatens--don´t fight it--just invite it to the party!

Regina and Mark | York Golf and Tennis Club Wedding, Maine

Sunday, August 31st, 2014 at 12:02pm - Weddings

Loved everything about Regina & Mark´s breezy seaside Summer wedding in York Harbor.  The soft blue and green palette combined all the things that are special to them as a couple.  They are actors in Hollywood, and they managed to bring some beautiful California light to Maine.

Their close friends performed a little tea ceremony to usher in the reception--so many little moments like this throughout the day that captivated everyone present.

Arnold & Ben of Barnberry Productions did an 8mm inspired video of Film day too.  Check out link here:  Regina & Mark Film.  They are both so fun to work with and create really beautiful work.  They captured the emotion in a way that is hard on film sometimes...esp Mark watching Regina walk down the aisle for the first time.  Also--love that behind the scenes footage of Regina & Mark making the wood archway and hand painting all the signs.  I also love the stream of consciousness editing style--all the emotion and craziness of a wedding.  Beautifully captured.

Mark enjoys woodworking and made that part of the day--from the "shim" escort cards, to the driftwood centerpieces, to the beautiful wooden archway for the ceremony.  Regina had a light from within that was shining every moment of their day....really wonderful couple.  So happy to be sharing their joyful day here.  Congrats Regina & Mark!

I´m going to put in a little plug for Mark & Regina´s famous reel that went completely viral all over the world....there are no words to describe so I´m just going to share the Trip Deacon, the world´s first Kayak Free Kayaker.
